Good-Bye, Disposable Cups!
Taiwan has been making a big change to help the environment.
The country has decided to stop using single-use, disposable plastic cups (一次性，用過就丟的塑膠杯).
These are the cups you can use once and throw away.
The government said all shops should stop using plastic cups by July next year.
Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung…
…along with Hsinchu City and Hsinchu County, have already stopped using plastic cups.
The local governments check shops to make sure they follow the new rule.
If a shop doesn't follow the rule, they might have to pay a fine (罰款).
Taiwan is known for its tasty milk tea with tapioca pearls (珍珠奶茶).
But these drinks come in plastic cups, and they create a lot of trash.
Every year, Taiwan throws away 4 billion disposable cups.
Most shops are doing good things like letting people use cups again or giving discounts if you bring your own cup.
現在大多數商店都讓人重複使用杯子，另外如果你帶自己的杯子去就給折扣。
This has helped reduce (減少) trash by a lot.
New Taipei City and Taoyuan are also seeing less trash because of the new rule.
In Kaohsiung, the change has helped lower the pollution (污染) that comes from making and throwing away cups.
But some shop owners say paper cups can be more expensive than, and not as strong as, plastic ones.
Some also say that paper cups don't show off the colors in the drinks very well.
The government is watching how well the new rule works.
They want to make sure it's good for everyone before they ask more places to stop using plastic cups.
They are listening to what people have to say and thinking about how to make things better for the planet.

埃及消失的城市 秘密揭曉
Egypt's Sunken Secrets Unveiled
The ocean is like a giant treasure chest (寶箱), deep and full of secrets.
It's so big that we've only seen a tiny part of it.
Over the years, lots of things have disappeared into the ocean (消失在海洋中).
Ships, planes, and even whole cities have been swallowed up by the waves and lost to time.
船隻、飛機，甚至整個城市都曾經被波浪吞噬，被時光遺忘。
Under the water, there are amazing things waiting to be discovered (等待被發現).
And sometimes, what's lost can be found again.
有的時候，失去的東西又會被找到。
Long ago, there was a city in Egypt called Thonis-Heracleion (東尼斯-赫拉克利翁).
It was next to the sea and was very busy with ships and traders (商人).
But one day, a big earthquake and huge waves made the whole city sink into the sea.
For many years, no one saw the city because it was under the water.
Then, in the year 2000, a team of underwater archaeologists (水下考古學家) found Thonis-Heracleion again.
It was hidden under the sea, about 7 kilometers away from the beach.
The archaeologists have found many special things from the city.
And recently, they told everyone about their newest find.
They found a temple (神殿) under the water!
It was a place where people long ago would honor a god named Amun.
很久以前，人們會在這裡敬拜一位名叫阿蒙的神。
This deity (神) was very important, especially to new Egyptian pharaohs (埃及法老王).
The temple had precious things like silver and gold and big jars that once held sweet-smelling perfumes.
神殿中有寶貴的東西，例如銀器和金器，以及曾裝有香水的大罐子。
Near this temple, they also found a place for worshiping Aphrodite, the goddess of love from Greece.
他們在附近還發現了一個供奉希臘愛神阿佛洛狄的地方。
This shows that people from Greece lived happily in the Egyptian city.
They found pots and statues and even weapons there!

Finding these things is very exciting.
They are so old, but they are still whole and beautiful.
The people who found them say it feels amazing to see things that were hidden for so long.
Now we know more about the city that sank and the people who lived there a very, very long time ago.
