台東海邊出現「神秘巨手」
Mysterious Giant Hand on Taitung Beach
Taiwan's beaches are beautiful.
There are green plants, blue skies, deep blue water…
And a giant HAND?!
Okay, it's actually a piece of art.
The giant hand is on a beach in Taitung County.
It is taller than a person.
The hand is covered with traditional hand tattoos of the Paiwan people.
這座巨手裝置藝術作品上，還有呈現排灣族傳統文手的圖案。
And the hand is pulling a string.
The string is tied to lots of garbage from the ocean.
Many people think the artwork is amazing.
But what is it doing on the beach?
Taitung officials say the artwork is new.
They say the giant hand was made by a Canadian artist Dave Hind.
Dave makes things from garbage and plastic waste.
He has used garbage to make all kinds of art, music instruments (樂器), and even a little house.
But Taitung officials say the artwork is not finished yet.
They are asking people to wait until it is finished before visiting.
They say they will add a sign soon.
This way, visitors can learn more about the giant hand and what it means.
台東縣政府原民處指說這個作品還在施作中，預計今年暑假前完成。
Taitung officials hope the art will bring more people to visit the area.
And they hope the giant hand will help everyone think more about protecting the ocean.

TIME Names World's Greatest Places 2023
TIME magazine has made a list of the world's greatest places for 2023.
時代雜誌公佈了「2023 年世界最好的地方」名單。
It says the world has started traveling again.
But some things have changed.
The magazine says traveling costs more now.
And it says people think more about the environment and sustainability (可持續性).
TIME says people want to have unique (獨特的) local experiences.
And they don't want to hurt the environment.
So TIME talked to its writers and staff from around the world.
It asked them to find new and exciting places to go.
So many people might not know about some of the places on the list.
How about Timisoara, Romania?
It's the official 2023 European Capital of Culture.
There will be many concerts, and festivals there this year.
Or head to Musanze, Rwanda.
It's home to Volcanoes National Park.
And rare mountain gorillas live there.

Fungicide Named After Keanu Reeves
Would you like to share your name with bacteria?
跟細菌同名，你會開心嗎?
Scientists have found a way to kill dangerous fungi (菌類).
A bacteria makes special chemicals.
And these chemicals can kill fungi.
Some types of fungi are helpful.
The mushrooms we eat are a type of fungus.
Some fungi can be used for medicine.
But some fungi are dangerous.
They kill plants that we eat.
And some can also make us sick.
Now the scientists in Germany can use the chemicals from a bacteria to kill some types of dangerous fungi.
The scientists named these chemicals "keanumycins" (基努黴素).
Does that sound familiar?
Keanumycins is named after the famous Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves (基努李維).
The scientists say keanumycins is very good at killing fungi, just like Keanu Reeves' many "deadly" characters.
科學家說這種新發現的抗菌化合物的殺傷力非常高，和基努李維在電影中的角色一樣「大殺四方」。
Keanumycins does not hurt plants or people.
This means it's better for the environment than other chemicals.
And what does the actor think about this?
Keanu says "that's pretty cool", and thanked the scientists for helping people.
