Retired New Taipei Police Dogs Go Up For Adoption
Have you ever seen a police dog (警犬)?
Police departments (警局) use dogs for many jobs.
These dogs help police find people.
And they help cops track down (追尋) guns or drugs.
The dogs and their human partners form a special group, called the "K9 unit" (K9單位).
But after years of hard work, it's time for these K9 dogs to retire (退役).
What happens to them?
Many of the dogs get adopted (被領養).
In New Taipei City, the police department is looking for people to adopt five K9 dogs.
Two of the dogs are black Labrador Retrievers, two are German Shepherds, and one a Border Collie.
其中兩隻狗是黑色拉布拉多犬，兩隻是德國牧羊犬，一隻是邊境牧羊犬。
The youngest of the dogs is six years old, and the oldest is nine.
The police are looking for responsible people (負責任的人) to give these dogs a home.
The dogs' new homes must have enough space, or they must be near a park, for the dog to exercise.
The police say these dogs are highly trained, so they are more obedient than most dogs (比大多數狗更聽話).
However, the dogs still need owners (主人) who will care for them and build a strong relationship with them.

Bangladeshi Farmers Build Hills for Flood Protection
Bangladesh (孟加拉國) is a very wet place.
This country in South Asia (南亞) has lots of rivers, lots of rain… and lots of floods (洪水).
Due to climate change, the rains have become heavier, and the floods more intense (猛烈).
Last year, Bangladesh had some of its worst floods ever.
When that happens, many Bangladeshi farmers have no place to go (無處可去).
But recently, one group is trying to change that.
The group is called "Friendship", and they are building hills across Bangladesh to keep people safe from flood waters.
該組織被稱為《友誼》，他們正在孟加拉國各地修建山丘，以保護人們免受洪水侵襲。
The group digs up dirt from the rivers, and uses it to build small hills.
Each hill is about three meters tall.
Friendship hires (雇用) local farmers to build the hill and the homes on top.
Once the hill is finished, the farmers can go live there.
About 25 families can live on each hill.
And in a flood emergency, 120 more families can take shelter (躲避) on the hill.
So far, Friendship has built twenty of these hills in Bangladesh.
The farmers who live there say it gives them peace of mind (安心), because they don't have to worry about the flooding.
They say the hill is more than just a hill… it is a community (社區).

Ultramassive Black Hole Discovered
What's in outer space (外太空)?
Of course there are many stars and planets.
But there are bigger things, too.
The most massive (質量最大) things in outer space are black holes.
A black hole (黑洞) is so huge, it pulls everything into it.
It even pulls light into it, which is why a black hole looks black.
And recently, scientists have found another black hole.
They say this is one of the most massive black holes in the universe (宇宙).
Scientists at Durham University, in the UK, say their discovery is very exciting.
They say this black hole is 30 billion times as massive as the sun.
That means it has the mass of 30 billion suns.
這意味著它有 300 億個太陽的質量。
Scientists call this an ultramassive black hole (特大質量黑洞).
They think there is one like it at the center of every large galaxy (星系).
Even our galaxy, the Milky Way (銀河系), has one at the center.
Now, scientists are trying to understand more about ultramassive black holes.
Scientists want to know where they came from, and how they got so massive.
