Kaohsiung: The Thirstiest City in Taiwan!
Taiwan is known around the world for its delicious tea and unique tea culture.
Hand-shaken drinks (手搖飲) can be found all across the island!
But do you know which city spends the most money on these tea drinks?
Last year, Kaohsiung was the number one city in Taiwan for buying drinks.
People there spent a whopping $8.26 billion NT on them!
According to the Ministry of Finance (財政部), there are a lot of places to buy hand-shaken drinks in Taiwan-
15,837 shops, to be exact!
And Kaohsiung has the most shops of any city, with 3,077 places, beating Tainan and Taichung.
In this competition of cities, after Kaohsiung, Tainan came in second place, and Taichung was third.
When we look at the whole country, from the north to the south, we notice more drink shops as we move southward.
New Taipei City, Taoyuan, and Taipei also love their drinks but have fewer shops compared to the southern cities.
When it comes to how much everyone spent on these tasty beverages, all of Taiwan spent $53.75 billion NT last year.
Kaohsiung wasn't just the city with the most drink shops; it also spent the most money on drinks.
Tainan was a close second in spending.
But, if we talk about how much money each person spends on drinks, Tainan's residents take the crown.
Each person in Tainan spent an average of $4,199 NT last year…
…while in Kaohsiung, each person spent about $3,015 NT.
So, whether it's a milk tea, a fruit shake, or something else entirely, it looks like the people of Kaohsiung and Tainan love their drinks a lot!

Ancient Warrior Women Might be Legendary Amazons
Long ago, people believed in stories about the Amazons
They were strong women warriors (女戰士) who were as fierce (兇猛) as any man in battle.
These women rode horses (騎馬) and used bows and arrows (弓箭).
The legends say they lived without men and were famous for their fighting skills.
While these tales seemed like just stories…
…archeologists digging up old graves have recently found clues that these warrior women might have been real!
In a place called Nakhchivan in Azerbaijan (在亞塞拜然的納希切萬), scientists found graves from 4,000 years ago.
They found women buried with weapons (武器) like sharp arrowheads (箭頭), a bronze dagger (青銅匕首), and even a heavy club (棍棒), as well as beautiful jewelry.
This made them think these could be the graves of the Amazons.
More discoveries support this idea.
In Russia (俄羅斯), they found four women buried with weapons.
In Armenia (亞美尼亞), there was a woman buried with an arrow in her leg from a fight.
And near Kazakhstan (哈薩克斯坦), they found a woman buried with a dagger.
What's fascinating is the evidence (證據) in their bones.
Some women had fingers shaped by using bows and arrows a lot, and their hips showed they rode horses often.
They even found special jewelry, which suggests these women were important and respected.
These findings will be shown in a TV series, telling stories of these ancient warrior women.
The show will explore places where cultures mixed and traded (文化交融和貿易), and where these women might have lived.

Tasty Tidbit
Do you like eating French fries with ketchup?
In the UK, a company called Thompson & Morgan made a special plant.
This plant can grow cherry tomatoes up top and potatoes below.
They named it the "ketchup and fries plant!"
Experts put together a tomato and a potato plant because they are like family, so they grow well together.
They use a process called grafting (移植).
After planting, you'll get sweet tomatoes in the summer.
Then, in the fall, you can dig up tasty, smooth potatoes that are great for cooking!
