風力發電機變成小熊軟糖
Wind Turbines Turn into Gummy Bears
Can you imagine that a decommissioned wind turbine blade could turn into a gummy bear?
你可以想像風力發電機的葉片回收之後,轉變成小熊QQ軟糖的樣子嗎?
Yes, that's right… from wind turbine to gummy bear.
Renewable energy (再生能源) is becoming more and more efficient.
And the cost of making renewable energy is going down too.
But the huge (巨大的) blades on a wind turbine always were a headache (令人頭痛).
Sometimes a blade breaks.
Or sometimes the blade is too old.
But the blades are very big.
How big are those blades?
Well, imagine running across a soccer field (足球場)… pretty big, right?
Many wind turbine blades are as long as half that soccer field!
And the blades are made of special materials (材料), like carbon fiber (碳纖維).
They last a long time.
So it can be really hard to throw them away safely, without hurting the environment.
Experts say there are now around 14,000 old and broken turbine blades in the world!
So what do we do with old and broken blades?
Scientists have found a way to make wind turbine blades out of materials that can be recycled.
And these blades can even be made into gummy bears!
Scientists at Michigan State University can build turbine blades out of biopolymer, and some other materials.
Biopolymers are natural materials made from cells (細胞) of living things.
The biopolymer is still strong enough to make good wind turbine blades.
And when the biopolymer blades break or get too old, they can be made into other things.
Or they can even be turned into sports drinks or candy!
What do you think about eating food made of recycled machines?
Would you want to try it?

喝珍奶有秘訣?
The Secret to Drinking Boba Milk Tea
Many people around the world love drinking boba milk tea.
But almost everyone has faced this problem…
There's no more boba, and you only have milk tea left.
Or, there's no more milk tea, and you only have boba left!
很多人喜歡喝冰冰涼涼的珍珠奶茶,不過快喝完的時候,發現只剩珍珠或只剩奶茶。
Can we finish both at the same time?
Some boba milk tea lovers on the internet say they can fix this problem.
First, they say stir (攪拌) before you drink.
Keep stirring as you're drinking.
If you leave your boba milk tea sitting for a while, remember to shake your cup before you stick your straw in it.
The main point here is to get the boba floating all throughout your milk tea.
Simple right?
Second, keep the bottom of your straw about 1 or 2 centimeters from the bottom of the cup.
If you stick your straw to the bottom, you won't get any boba when you drink.
And you'll still be left with a bunch of boba at the end.
Super simple, right?
Now you know how to fully enjoy your next cup of Taiwan's famous drink, boba milk tea.
