芒果貿易商想要在美國賣芒果
Mango Producers Want to Sell in the US
Have you ever eaten a mango (芒果) from Taiwan?
They're AWESOME (超棒的)!
But people don't just eat them in Taiwan.
This year, Taiwan has already exported 900 metric tons of mangoes to other countries.
台灣今年已經外銷了九百公噸的芒果去其他國家。
Most of Taiwan's mangoes go to Hong Kong, South Korea, and Japan.
But not the US? That's weird…
In 1992, more than 30 years ago, the US and Taiwan signed a deal (簽了合約) saying Taiwan could send their mangoes to the US, too.
But there's one big problem…
It takes a long time to send all those mangoes to the US.
This is because every batch of mangoes has to be checked, to make sure there are no bugs or other problems.
這是因為每一批芒果出口都需要先被檢查，確認沒有蟲或其他的問題。
Then, they have to go to the US on a big boat (大船上).
All of this takes around 20 days…
And after 20 days, most of the mangoes have expired (過期了)!
Still, many mango farmers (芒果農) in Taiwan want to sell their fruit in the US.
They say they think lots of people would want to buy them.
Well, of course, because they're delicious!
So, more mango farmers in Taiwan are starting to apply (申請) to send their mangoes to the US faster.
If the US says yes, it can send people to check each batch of mangoes (檢查每一批的芒果).
And if they're okay, maybe we could send them to the US faster.
That would be good news for both countries!

Apple Reveals New Headset
Do you have an iPhone, or an Apple computer?
If you do… then you know they can be useful (好用), and fast… and SUPER EXPENSIVE (超級貴的).
And now, Apple has announced (宣布了) its newest product… the "Apple Vision Pro".
It's a headset (頭戴裝置), so you put it on your head, like big goggles (像護目鏡).
And when you're wearing it (戴上了之後), you can use it to see things in different ways.
It will let people do things in "virtual reality" (虛擬實境), or VR, which can let them see a completely different world around them.
And it will also let people use "augmented reality" (擴增實境), or AR, which can let people see the real world around them, with some new things in it.
For example, Apple says people can wear the headset to watch movies in any room, even without a TV.
But, remember when I said Apple products are SUPER EXPENSIVE?

Well, Apple says the Vision Pro is going to cost around 3,500 US dollars (三千五百美金).
That's more than 100,000 NT (價錢高於十萬台幣)!
Wow.
And the second-most expensive headset (第二貴的頭戴式裝置) is from Facebook's "Meta" company, at around 500 US dollars, or 15,000 NT (一萬五千台幣).
Also wow.
Well, they look cool! But maybe I'll wait until they're not so expensive…

Satellite Sends Solar Power from Space to Earth
Can you see that bright, beautiful sun in the sky?
Wait, don't! Please, don't look at the sun.
But you know it can still give us energy, right?
太陽可以給我們很多能量！
Scientists have been working on solar energy (太陽能) for many years.
Of course, there's one big problem with solar energy…
We can only get it during the day, when the sun is out!
But scientists want to get solar energy all the time, even at night.
So they have made some satellites that orbit the Earth, to always be in the sun, and always collecting energy.
科學家製作了一直繞著地球運行的衛星，為了一直在太陽的照射下，並且不斷地吸收太陽的能量。
The satellites keep that energy in batteries, so they can use it later.
And now, for the first time, scientists have sent that solar energy from a satellite, all the way down to Earth!
最近有科學家歷史上第一次把太陽能從衛星傳送到地球！
They say the satellite can collect a LOT more energy up in space.
But right now, it can only send a little bit down to Earth.
So they just need to figure out (確認) how to get more of it… from space… to here.
If these satellites work better soon, you might be using satellite energy for your VR headset, while you eat a mango!
