Taipei Zoo Panda Recovering After Treatment
These days, there aren't very many pandas left in the world.
That's why we have to take care of (照顧) the pandas we have!
Even Taiwan's Taipei Zoo (台北動物園) only has four pandas.
The zoo has two older pandas, named Tuan Tuan (團團) and Yuan Yuan (圓圓).
And they have two cubs (熊寶寶), named Yuan Zai (圓仔) and Yuan Bao (圓寶).
And recently, the father panda, Tuan Tuan, has not been feeling well.
Veterinarians (獸醫), also called "vets", did some tests (測試) to see what was wrong.
At first, zoo vets thought Tuan Tuan had a disease called epilepsy, because he was having trouble moving, and had no appetite.
But later, they found that there were some other small problems in the panda's brain
Now, Tuan Tuan is 18 years old.
That's pretty old for a panda!
So it's actually normal that he may be showing signs of age.
But after getting treatment (治療) from vets, Tuan Tuan has almost fully recovered (幾乎完全康復).
Vets say they are still conducting (執行) more tests on Tuan Tuan's brain.
They say after the tests are done, they will know how to take the best care of him.
Let's hope he can get well soon!

Artificial Intelligence Wins Art Contest
Art is made in so many different ways.
People can make it with pencils (鉛筆), paint (漆), and all kinds of objects (東西).
And you'd probably call them artists (藝術家)!
Nowadays, we can use computers to make art even more quickly and easily.
But what happens if the computer makes art by itself?
Recently, the world has seen many new machines (機器) that can speak, play games, and even make decisions by themselves (自己做決定).
This kind of machine is called "artificial intelligence" (人工智慧), or A.I.
And now, people are letting them make their own art!
In the U.S., a picture made by an A.I. has won $300 dollars in an art contest
The picture is called "Th??tre D'op?ra Spatial", and people say it looks like a European painting from the 1800s (歐洲1800年代的一幅畫).
First, the "creator" (製作者) of this picture had an AI generate hundreds of random images (輸出數百張隨機製造的圖畫).
He then picked his favorite image, and used his own computer to make some edits (編輯).
Now, a lot of people are angry that this picture won, because it wasn't really made by him.
They say that because it was made by an A.I., it isn't really art.
Of course, maybe this man shouldn't have won the contest, when other people worked so hard on their own pictures.
But the question still stands:
這個問題還在:
If a computer can make art by itself… is it an artist?

Japan Will Reopen to Foreign Tourists
When the COVID-19 pandemic (疫情) began in 2020, many countries quickly closed their borders (關閉國界).
That means those countries stopped allowing (不允許了) people from other countries to enter (入境).
Now, more than two years later, most countries have already reopened their borders
But some are reopening much slower than others, like Taiwan and Japan (日本).
This is because some governments still want to be very careful.
But now, Japan's government has announced (宣布了) that it will reopen to foreign tourists (外國觀光客).
Starting from October 11th, travelers to Japan (去日本的旅客) will be able to enter the country on their own, without a visa (簽證).
Many people in Japan are excited to see more tourists (觀光客) visiting the country.
That's because when Japan gets more tourists, businesses can make more money, and Japan's economy can recover from the pandemic.
So if you're thinking of planning a trip to Japan, you should probably start looking at plane tickets (機票), before they're all gone!
