台灣農夫 用機器人克服雜草
Taiwan Farmers Fight Weeds with Robots
When some people think about farms (農場), they might think of someplace very peaceful.
And it's true that a farm can be much quieter than a city.
But farming is a LOT of work!
That's because every kind of farmer (農夫) is trying to keep their crops (農作物) safe and healthy.
There are animals and bugs that try to eat the crops…
And weeds (雜草) that try to steal their water!
In fact, Taiwan's Council of Agriculture says that just getting rid of weeds is about 30 percent of farming costs.
農委會說，光是除草就占農場支出成本的百分之三十。
So they have made a new kind of robot (機器人), to help farmers fight some of these pests (有害植物)!
This robot rolls around on wheels and helps to cut down weeds.
It moves very slowly, but it does its job well, and can help farmers save money (省錢).
In Taiwan, there are farms for coffee beans (咖啡豆), tea leaves (茶葉), and much more.
So whenever you eat fruits and vegetables, or drink coffee or tea, remember to give your thanks to farmers and robots!

Scientists Achieve Breakthrough in Nuclear Fusion
In our world, we need energy (能量) to make things work.
Cars, computers, lights, and all kinds of other machines (機器) need energy.
Energy can come from fossil fuel (化石燃料)…
From electricity (電)…
From nuclear reactors (核子反應爐)…
Or even from technology like solar power (太陽能)…
But what if we could just make our own sun (太陽)?
Well, we can… kind of!
其實… 算是可以！
The sun uses something called "nuclear fusion" (核融合) to make its energy.
Nuclear fusion happens when the sun smashes atoms together so hard that they fuse into bigger atoms.
核融合就是太陽的引力把原子壓在一起，壓成更大的原子。
And this month, scientists in the U.S. state of California controlled nuclear fusion in an experiment (在實驗中成功控制了核融合)…
It was the first time they got more energy out of controlled nuclear fusion than they put into it!
這是史上第一次，科學家利用核融合，可以產生更高的能量。
Scientists say if they can control nuclear fusion even better, then they can create a LOT more clean energy (綠色能源) for the whole world.
Unfortunately, we might not have that kind of energy for a few more decades (幾十年後)…
But when you're older, you might be using the power of the sun, right here on Earth!

World Cup Champions Celebrate Victory
If you like football (足球) also called soccer in the U.S., then you might have heard about the World Cup (世界盃足球賽).
Every four years (每四年一次), countries from all around the world get together for a football championship (足球冠軍), called the World Cup.
It's a very special moment for sports (運動), and for all the countries' teams (球隊).
It's so popular that people all around the world watch it closely, even people who don't like sports!
So, which team won?
到底是哪一個國家的球隊贏了？
This year's World Cup Champion is Argentina (阿根廷)!
It's the first time Argentina has won the World Cup since 1986.
And it's the first win for their star player, Lionel Messi (梅西).
And people all around the world are saying that it was the most exciting football match they had ever seen (他們看過的 最精彩的足球賽).
In fact, Argentina was so happy to win, their government gave the whole country a holiday (假日), so everyone could celebrate!
The next World Cup will be held in 2026, in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.
I wonder which country will be the next world champions?
