Description

Wendy grew up in New York, Long Island, Roslyn Heights, 110 Crescent Lane. My mother said I was always funny -- my lemonade stand had a two-drink minimum.

I studied psychology in college (Wellesley '83) and was planning on becoming a therapist, but in 1985 I took a class called "How To Be A Stand-up Comedian" at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education, and that changed everything. (My teacher was Ron Lynch.)

Since then I have performed on Carson, Letterman, Leno, Fallon, Kimmel, Ferguson, and Hollywood Squares, at colleges and events, and in comedy clubs throughout North America and England.

In 1997 I received the honor of Best Female Stand-up Comedian by the American Comedy Awards.

I've starred in specials for HBO, Showtime, and Comedy Central, and was a Semi-Finalist on NBC's America's Got Talent (I was Howard Stern's wildcard pick).

I live in Los Angeles, with my husband Jeffrey Sherman, and two rescued Jindo dogs, Jemma and Jackson, who are as trainable as a carrot.

I have two older phenomenal stepsons who still remind me that I once served them a salad with a paper towel in it.

My hour special, "Wendy Liebman: Taller On TV" is available on Amazon.
