Richard Poe has created a nice discussion with an article titled "How the British Caused the American Civil War" at LewRockwell.com. Several of you asked me to comment on it, and it is indeed a worthwhile piece. I quibbled with a couple of his positions, but overall, his macro approach to the conflict merits consideration, particularly as it places the debate over slavery in a secondary role to economic motivation.
