The DS ‘T’ is an official collaboration between Purple Radio and Durham Student Theatre. Hosts Matthew Redmond and Issy Flower, who have both been involved in over 15 shows at Durham, take the time to bring the latest news, opinions and jokes from the stage to the web.
In this week’s episode, Issy and Matt discuss the Hamilton Film Adaptation, Woman in Theatre and interview 2 directors for upcoming shows; Dorottya Farkas for Lost Connections and Helena Baker for Measure for Measure.
A fusion of several physical performance arts, Lost Connections aims to portray universal human strategies for the pursuit of pleasure, desires, and connections. It is character-driven play that follows the lives of a travelling circus troupe and is a visually striking show in which stories unfold through the language of the body, through dance, acrobatics, and pantomime.
Wrong Tree presents 'Lost Connections'
14th-16th February, 7.30pm
Mark Hillary Arts Centre, Collingwood College
The delicate balance of power is toppled when the Duke Vincentio bestows absolute power upon his deputy, Angelo, in his stead. When the new and all-powerful Official offers to save the life of Isabella’s brother in return for her virginity, the young postulant nun is left astounded by the state of justice. William Shakespeare’s timeless problem play ‘Measure for Measure’ explores themes of hypocrisy, faith, blackmail and love as we see what happens when the ones in charge don’t abide by their own rules.
Performances are 13th-15th February in the Assembly Rooms!
