Today, I’m honored to be joined by Ambassador Mark Brzezinski to explore his remarkable life and career. We begin by discussing his legendary father, former National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski, who is the subject of Edward Luce’s new biography, "Zbig: The Life of Zbigniew Brzezinski: America’s Great Power Prophet." We reflect on Zbig’s reputation as a formidable power broker, as well as the profound personal and professional lessons Mark gained from him.Mark shares insights from his own distinguished career, starting with his role on the National Security Council under President Clinton, where he focused on the Balkans. We also delve into his subsequent service under Presidents Obama and Biden. With direct experience across four presidential administrations—Carter, Clinton, Obama, and Biden—Mark offers a unique and invaluable perspective on U.S. foreign policy and diplomacy.Currently based in Poland, Mark leads Brzezinski Global Strategies, a consulting firm advising companies and governments throughout Eastern Europe and beyond. We also touch on his accomplished family: his mother Emilie, a renowned sculptor; his sister Mika, co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe; and his brother Ian, a military advisor during the George W. Bush administration. It was a truly enriching and wide-ranging conversation.
