The rollout of new security scanners allowing liquids up to 2 litres in hand luggage without removal has been delayed at major UK airports like Heathrow and Gatwick. These airports now have until June 2025 to complete the installations due to post-Covid supply chain issues and the heavy equipment required. In the meantime, London City Airport is already using these advanced CT scanners, making the security process quicker and smoother. Until all airports have implemented the new technology, continue to follow current liquid restrictions and check guidelines before travelling.
