Guest Bio:
Growing up in the streets of San Diego, Samira grew up in a culture of stress, violence, and gang warfare. It was normalized, to be part of a gang and it cycled through generations of people who would be born into that way of living. “There were only two outcomes if you stay in that lifestyle – death or prison. At 18, she left home with her baby because she felt she was not getting the love she needed from her family.
It would be a tough few year, being homeless and sleeping on a different couch every few days. She would sometimes use her welfare check to pay for a hotel room for herself and her young daughter. When she became incarcerated for robbery, she felt she hit rock bottom. In jail, she struggled to find answers and turned to Jesus the bible and prayers to help her find her way.
After being in jail for 3 months awaiting her prison sentence, she felt her prayers had been answered when the judge decided to set her free after facing a 5-year prison sentence for a robbery. Seeing this as a chance to change, she gathered her courage and moved herself across the country away from family and gangs.
In 2017, she started her own apparel brand called Stay Encouraged LLC, which is an inspirational line of clothing to encourage people to never give up under any circumstances. One year later she became an Evangelist with a mandate to encourage, inspire and equip the lives of others. She was then led to take a life-altering trip to South Africa where she worked as a missionary.
Currently, Samira serves as the head over the Prison Ministry for the church she attends, World Harvest Church in Roswell, Georgia, she is also an Ordained Chaplain. She has been charged by God to set captives free, and she does this by going to different prison facilities throughout the state of Georgia. She is passionate about helping mentor women, as well as working with both men and women who are incarcerated.
Her ministry not only reaches those currently serving time behind bars, but also equips women who desire to be released from the lies of satan. She has poured her heart and soul into her calling, and has the determination to fight for lost souls. Her calling is to show each person she works alongside how to rise up as warriors in Christ and to live an undefeated life through practical biblical strategies. As a speaker for various events nationally and internationally, Samira is powerfully moving her generation to become Champions for Christ in Jesus Name. Samira encourages others to stand on the powerful understanding that “When God is all you have. God is all you need”. Luke 10:19- Behold. I have given you the authority to trample on serpents, and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Remember. Stay Encouraged!
