Built on academic work by Grober and Penner, its algorithms use the equation of motion with friction to calculate realistic trajectories. The app models pure rolling motion on a planar surface, a valid approximation near the hole. This allows accurate predictions for putts between one and eight meters, provided the product of green speed (Stimp) and slope stays within a manageable range (Ds × SLmax ≤ 40).
The real innovation lies in its visualization. After entering slope and distance parameters, golfers see the projected putt path displayed on screen. Crucial reference points—aim point, distance point, and target speed—are highlighted, showing not only where to aim but also how speed affects break.
