Sili’a Lemalu is the first Samoan Female Auxiliary Firefighter in the whole of Queensland Australia. When I found out that Sili’a was a firefighter I thought how cool. Not only does she put a peg in the road to our traditionally valued ideas of success (meaning we get to define and coin our own successes) but she also fights the good fight in a male dominant industry. Dispelling conventional traditions and brining about hope for our daughters to know that there are many pathways to growth. We are blessed to be invited into Sili’a’s personal growth journey!
