Description

This podcast episode compares budget-friendly grocery shopping at Aldi to shopping at higher-end stores. It also offers a look at some popular clothing retailers.

Aldi: A shopper compared Aldi's 89p chocolate reindeer to the £3 Lindt version and was impressed by the quality of Aldi's chocolate. Aldi also sells a line of hair products that strengthen and repair damaged hair for £3.99 each.

Lindt: This Swiss chocolate company is known for its high-quality chocolate and popular Lindor truffles.

Marks and Spencer: This retailer sells a variety of festive snacks and sweet treats for the holiday season. They were involved in a lawsuit with Aldi over the latter's Cuthbert the Caterpillar cakes, which M&S claimed were too similar to their Colin the Caterpillar cakes. The lawsuit was eventually settled out of court. M&S also sells clothing, including a popular chocolate brown textured coat.

Asda: Lindt's milk chocolate teddy can be purchased at Asda for £3.

Tesco: This supermarket sells duck fat, which can be used to make roast potatoes. They also had to issue an urgent recall of their cooked beef slices and red cabbage and apple side dish due to incorrect use-by dates.

Debenhams: This retailer sells a variety of items, including a chocolate brown coat and riding boots. They also have a great deal on designer perfumes.
