Something slightly different this week, having spent the weekend attending both days of the BTCC at Oulton Park and enjoying all of the support series too in person. I took along a pair of microphones, and with no plans made in advance at all I wanted to see who I could record interviews with! I have mentioned before how open and accessible the paddock is, and this was my way of proving that to those yet to give BTCC a go.Joining me on the Sunday was my daughter Emilia, so I roped her in to discussing our weekend too! Now whilst she isn't the biggest fan of motorsport, this is our 3rd year running attending the Oulton Park round of the British Touring Car Championship. Her face beamed when I mentioned the prospect of interviewing drivers, so I just had to let her have a go! It also happened to be Steve Rider's final weekend presenting before retiring and I was SO LUCKY to get the chance to record his thoughts ahead of the weekend. However my new microphones were in their teething phase it seems so the audio was not playing ball at all! Gutted does not begin to describe how I felt in the edit when I listened back...
