Here is a prayer asking God for wisdom, guidance, and clarity on whether to continue or end a relationship for the purpose of marriage:
Heavenly Father,
I come before You with a heart full of praise, for You are the God of all wisdom, the One who directs our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
You are the source of all understanding, and Your ways are higher than our ways, Your thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9).
You are our Counselor, the One who gives light to our steps and guides us with Your loving eye upon us (Psalm 32:8).
Lord, You are faithful, and You promise that if we lack wisdom, we can ask, and You will give generously without finding fault (James 1:5).
I worship You, knowing that Your plans are for our good, to give us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
Father, I lift up the one who hears this prayer, seeking Your divine guidance regarding this relationship.
You see the desires of their heart and the uncertainties they face.
I ask that You reveal Your will in this situation, making it clear whether this relationship should be continued and pursued towards marriage, or if it should come to an end.
Lord, Your Word says that You guide the humble in what is right and teach them Your way (Psalm 25:9).
Please guide them with Your wisdom and give them discernment to know what aligns with Your perfect plan.
Lord, You know what is best for their future, and You understand the heart of the person they are considering.
If this relationship is in line with Your will and purpose, I pray that You would strengthen it,
Building a foundation of love, faith, and mutual respect that reflects Your love for the church (Ephesians 5:25).
But if this is not Your will, I ask that You give them the courage to let go, trusting that You have something better in store.
Grant them peace that surpasses understanding as they wait for Your answer,
And remind them that You are with them, guiding them every step of the way (Philippians 4:6-7).
May they hear Your voice clearly, knowing the direction You would have them take,
And may they rest in Your promise that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).
In the name of Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6),
I ask for clarity, wisdom, and direction in this decision.
May Your will be done, and may their heart find peace in following Your leading. In Jesus name, Amen
