Description

In July 2025, the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) banned transgender women from competing in women’s sports categories, aligning with President Trump’s February executive order, “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports.” The policy, updated quietly under the USOPC’s Athlete Safety Policy, mandates that national sports federations comply, citing fairness and safety for cisgender women. While the International Olympic Committee allows individual federations to set rules, some, like World Athletics and World Aquatics, already bar trans women who transitioned post-puberty.
