Characteristics of False Teachers (vs. 10)
Insubordinate
Empty Talkers
Deceivers
What distinguishes Christianity is Jesus’ sacrifice for us on the cross.
In faith alone, in Christ alone
The distinguishing factor is the gospel
False teachers teach everything but the gospel.
Poor people are often the most generous.
False religion wants to tell you that if you are poor you will be unhappy and wealth is the only way to be happy.
You will damn people to hell through false teaching.
You have to stand on the gospel even if it is hard to tell.
False religion is all about me me me.
False teachers promise what they can’t deliver.
When everything is wrong, it’s still okay because you are still with Christ.
You can praise God when it’s good and you can praise God when it’s bad because you have the hope of our eternity.
The best is still ahead for every believer.
Heaven is special because you can’t have those things now.
When people are giving this kind of teaching, their mouths must be stopped (vs. 11)
Conclusion
Our hearts should go out to those who have bought into false teaching.
