Description


We need to learn how to regard a brother who sins against you. We must forgive each other.

    • Introduction 
    • Forgiveness is not a feeling.  
    • Forgiveness is not forgetting. 
    • Forgiveness is not faking. 
    • Forgiveness is forever. 
  2. The Parable of Forgiveness (vs. 21-35) 

    • Forgiveness is found in the forgiver, not in the forgiven. 
    • I’d you can’t see a picture of Jesus in this, you are blind. 
    • This is a picture of the gospel. 
    • The servant had the legal right to ask for the money but not the moral right. 
    • When I choose to receive forgiveness, I am obligated to practice that same forgiveness for others. 
    • When one refuses to forgive another, there is a torture and a torment in their soul. 
  3. The Principles of Forgiveness 

    • The source of our forgiveness for others is God’s forgiveness to us. 
    • The refusal to forgive is costly. 
    • The secret of forgiveness is grace. 

Conclusion

Don’t be so foolish but rejoice in the gospel that you have received through the gospel. Extend that grace and forgiveness. Because you have been forgiven, you need to forgive.
