Description

A lot of people think that the Christian life is just a constant battle. The Christian life is Jesus Christ living His life out through the members of your body. All you have to do is keep out of the way and let Jesus have His way.

Scripture Texts

Primary Text: Romans 6

Supplemental Texts: 1 Corinthians 3; Romans 6, 7, and 8

Main Points or Ideas

Jesus has a message that He wants to give and we are the letter.  When you say to the world that you are a Christian they view you as what Christianity is.  They have a perfect right to judge Jesus Christ through how they see Christianity lived out in us.

Preoccupation with the person of Christ is the secret to a life of victory.  Jesus Christ bought our bodies.

We were crucified with Christ and Christ lives in us.

We must die to self and to sin. (Rom. 6:11)

Dead to sin and alive to God

Dying out to self will and to self interest

Dying out to sin

This is not sinless sanctification

If you know that you are being tempted to commit sin, you don’t have to do it!

We have the ability to have victory over our known sin.

You will continue to struggle with the sin that is ingrained into your nature.

If you have been a Christian long enough, you should know where the verses are that you need.

Set your mind on things that are above (1 Cor. 3)

Because you are dead

Romans 6, 7, and 8

Don’t be afraid to surrender to Him.

Why would Joseph of Arimathea believe that Jesus was going to rise from the dead when His disciples didn’t even believe He was going to rise from the dead?

Part of our inheritance is to suffer with Christ.

There is joy that comes through the tears of suffering.

Are you willing to bear your cross with Him?

Suffering first and then the glory.

Conclusion

Die to sin, live for Christ, suffer, and be cleansed. This is the writing paper and you are it.
