Join Ashley for a solo journey this episode where she tells the story of the death of Shannan Gilbert, a 24-year-old woman who went missing in May of 2010.
Shannan was working as an escort in New York when she disappeared in May of 2010 after booking a client in Oak Beach, Long Island. In an extensive efforts to find Shannan, police would ultimately wind up finding several remains scattered along the Ocean Parkway. These bodies would be later connected to the Long Island Serial Killer (LISK), before police found Shannan's remains in a marsh, December 2011.
The circumstances surrounding her death remain controversial and unsolved. The cause of her death was ruled as undetermined, with nothing definitively indicating if she was a victim of LISK or if her death was accidental. Shannan's disappearance led to the findings of multiple bodies in Gilgo Beach however, and would contribute to the broader narrative of the LISK investigation.
