In this episode of When God Intervenes, I sit down with Bobbe Mcginley, a licensed drug and alcohol counselor with over 35 years of experience. In this episode, she has tips for parents with an adult child battling drug and/or alcohol addiction.
Bobbe settled in Arizona in 1989 after completing the Hazelden 55-week counselor training program, and has been working with adult addicts, alcoholics and their affected persons since then. She also works with couples and families and uses her counseling, mediation and coaching skills as needed. She is a Masters level and received an MBA to open her licensed agency. She has been working with problem gamblers and their affected persons for the last 22 years. Bobbe holds a contract to treat this population since their major consequence is debt and lack of funds. She provides individuals, couples and group therapy. She is a consultant and trainer regarding problem gamblers & their families. She is also a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) with contracts with EAP programs across the country, working with CDL holders, several Airlines and Union Pacific Railroad including Auto Dealerships regarding their policies about abstaining from alcohol and drugs.
