Electric cars represent a promising solution to address the environmental challenges of our time, but they must overcome several difficulties before becoming the norm in the automotive market. I may sound drastic, but in my opinion, the only way out of the crisis for Stellantis and Volkswagen is to develop a solid-state battery capable of allowing greater capacity at the same weight, enhanced safety, and also offering faster charging speeds than current batteries. If it is possible to create batteries that replace those currently in use, utilizing the same insertion slots, allowing electric car owners to replace their obsolete battery with a new, more efficient one at an affordable price, then Stellantis and Volkswagen will still have a future.
