Have you ever woken up from a dream that felt meaningful and wondered if it was just random… or something more? There is a lot of cultural conversation around manifestation and symbolism, but not much grounded discussion about how to discern sleeping dreams from a biblical perspective.
In this conversation, I walk through a simple four step framework to process a dream.
Give the dream a title.
Identify the main theme instead of every strange detail.
Notice the dominant feeling. What were you actually feeling in the dream.
Ask what question the dream is raising for you.
Then we go deeper with discernment questions that help you stay rooted in truth.
Does the interpretation align with Scripture.
Does it reflect the character of God.
Does it align with the work God is already doing in your life.
Is it connected to prayers you have been praying.
Does your response increase your dependence on God.
Do the message and your response cause you to love God and others more
Does your response align with wise, Christ centered counsel in your life.
Not every dream is spiritual. Sometimes it is stress, hormones, or your brain solving problems while you sleep. But when something feels weighty, this gives you a thoughtful and grounded way to process it.
If you have ever wondered whether God might be speaking while you sleep, this conversation will help you lean in with wisdom instead of fear.
