The Apia Samoa temple was the 3rd temple dedicated in the Pacific Islands. It was a very busy building, always full of patrons. It was closed for renovations in 2003 and unfortunately the building suffered a devastating fire. Rebuilding efforts started immediately, and the only thing that survived the fire was the statue of the Angel Moroni, it was refurbished and used on the rebuilt temple.
