1. Vaping isn’t harmless 🚫
- Every vaping device contains addictive nicotine, which can damage the developing adolescent brain (until about age 25), impairing attention, learning, mood, and impulse control .
- Youth who vape are more likely to become addicted, use traditional cigarettes, and experiment with other drugs .
2. Youth use & trends
- Among U.S. middle and high schoolers, 5.9% currently vape (1.63 million students), double from 2023’s 7.7% to 5.9% in 2024 .
- Flavored vapes are a major draw: nearly 88% of teen vapers say they use flavored pods, often nearly daily ().
3. Adult vaping use
- Adult use is highest among ages 21–24 (15.5%), followed by 18–20 (10.3%), then declines with age .
- Use is more common in men, those with lower income/education, uninsured folks,
