As of 2019, the total combined debt of American millennials is $1 trillion. With this grim statistic in mind, paying off $40k in debt seems impossible, let alone saving up $100k for retirement, but this is a reality that is possible and achievable.
In today’s episode, I talk to Chloe, a good friend of mine and founder of Clo. Chloe launched Clo Bare as a way to talk about money and personal growth. After starting her budgeting journey in 2018, in less than two years she paid off $40k in debt, saved $100k for retirement, and got on track to retire by 46. Now she is coaching folks on how to make their money work for them and live a life aligned with their values.
During our powerful conversation, Chloe shares how she went from teaching English in China to setting herself up for retirement. She talks about how poor financial choices are some of the primary causes of stress and poor mental health, why money shouldn’t be a taboo subject, and how you can make better financial choices and get on track for savings and retirement.
