Description

Welcome back to Your Unapologetic Life! In this episode, I sit down for a candid and heartfelt chat with my dear friend, Julie Robinson—my sister from another mother. Though we went to high school together, we didn’t become friends until our 30s. We’ve shared so much together, including living together twice. Throughout our conversation, we reflect on our high school years, sharing our initial impressions of each other; I was known as the smart girl, while Julie was the life of the party.

As we dive deeper into our stories, we touch on the complexities of body image. Julie shares her experience of feeling too skinny and dealing with the teasing that came with it, while I candidly recount my struggles with anorexia. Our discussions highlight how different experiences shape our views on body image, especially as we navigate motherhood and raise teenage daughters in this social media-driven age.

Julie also opens up about her time as a NICU nurse, the profound moments she’s shared with families during their hardest times, and how these experiences have influenced her spirituality and creativity. She’s now channeling her journey into writing poetry, a passion that captures her many life experiences.

This episode captures the beauty of friendship, growth, and the wisdom we gain through our journeys. You can find Julie on TikTok as @SoulScribeRN, where she shares her poems.
