We all care about what others think of us, whether it's how we look, how much we know, or how successful we seem. But when we focus too much on appearances and worldly things, we can lose sight of what truly matters in God's eyes.
The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 15:5 that wisdom comes from being open to correction and learning from those who care about us. In Psalm 49, we are warned that material wealth and earthly accomplishments can’t save us from death or give us eternal life. And in Romans 14, we're reminded that our actions are ultimately accountable to God, not to anyone else.
As teens, it's easy to get caught up in the pressure to succeed or impress. Social media, school, and even family expectations can make us feel like we need to be perfect. But the truth is, what matters most isn’t what people see on the outside—it’s how we live before God. It’s about humility, wisdom, and the understanding that our value isn’t tied to our achievements or how much we have. We are made in God’s image, and He calls us to live for Him and care about what He thinks, not just for others.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. True Wisdom: Are you open to correction or advice from others, especially when it might be hard to hear?
2. Eternal Value: What things in your life do you focus on that may not have eternal value? How can you shift your focus to what truly matters in God's eyes?
3. Living for God: In what areas of your life do you need to remember that you’re ultimately accountable to God, not to the opinions of others?

BOTTOM LINE
God cares about our hearts and our relationship with Him. Success, popularity, and material wealth won’t last, but how we live for God and serve others will have eternal value.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that my worth isn’t tied to what the world values. Help me to focus on what truly matters—following You, learning from others, and living in a way that pleases You. Give me the wisdom to make choices that reflect Your heart, and help me remember that I am ultimately accountable to You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
