“But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?” — 1 John 3:17
“Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God.” — 1 John 3:21

God cares deeply about what’s in our hearts—what we think, what we feel, and how we act toward others. In Proverbs 22:11, we’re told that someone who loves purity in their heart and speaks with grace will earn the respect of others. Think about that: having a pure heart isn’t just about keeping our actions in check, it’s about the inside being clean, too. And in 1 John 3, we see how what’s in our hearts plays a crucial role in our relationship with God. If our heart is pure, we can approach God with confidence, knowing that we’re living in alignment with His will.
But sometimes, our hearts get clouded. We get selfish, we act out of pride, or we simply forget to love those around us. Yet, God’s love for us remains, and He invites us to live with a heart that reflects His love toward others. It’s a reminder that living for God isn’t just about avoiding the bad things—it’s about actively choosing to love as He loves us.

1. Heart Check: How can you ensure your heart is aligned with God’s will today? Are there areas where you’ve been closing your heart to others?
2. Loving with Action: How does the way you treat others reflect what’s in your heart? When was the last time you showed love to someone in need?
3. Confidence in God: When you reflect on your heart, do you feel confident that it aligns with God’s love? If not, what’s one step you can take to change that?

A pure heart leads to gracious speech and actions that reflect God’s love to the world. When our hearts are aligned with God, we can walk confidently in His love, showing kindness to others and reflecting His heart to those around us.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love that never leaves us, no matter what’s in our hearts. Help me to love others the way You love me, with purity and grace. Show me areas where I need to let go of selfishness and make room for Your heart to shine through me. Help me to live with confidence before You, knowing that my actions and words reflect Your love. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
