Sometimes, life can feel like a maze of challenges and fears. Maybe you’ve thought, “What if I mess up? What if I fail?” These worries can make us freeze or run in the wrong direction, just like the lazy person in Proverbs 22:13 who is afraid of a lion that doesn’t even exist. Fear can cloud our judgment and cause us to miss opportunities. But what if we let the truth of Psalm 99:1, where God reigns and is in control, take away our fear and lead us to action?
In 1 John 4:8, we’re reminded that God is love. His perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). This love is the key to living boldly, without being paralyzed by fear or worry. When we remember that God’s love is always with us, we can face each challenge with courage, knowing He’s guiding us. Instead of worrying about the “lions” in our lives, we can trust that God’s wisdom will help us navigate through tough situations.

1. Fear vs. Wisdom: What are some things that make you anxious or fearful? How can God’s wisdom and love help you face those fears instead of avoiding them?
2. God’s Authority: How does recognizing that “The Lord reigns” (Psalm 99:1) change the way you approach life’s problems?
3. Love as the Foundation: How does knowing that God is love encourage you to show love to others, especially in tough situations?

BOTTOM LINE
When fear tries to hold you back, remember that God’s love and wisdom give you the strength to face anything with courage. Trust Him to guide you through the challenges, and let His love help you step forward without fear.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love and wisdom that guide me through life. Help me to trust in Your authority and not be ruled by fear. Teach me to lean on You when challenges come my way, knowing that Your love will give me the courage I need. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
