“Three things are stately in their tread; four are stately in their stride: the lion, which is mightiest among beasts and does not turn back before any…” — Proverbs 30:29–30
“And behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom…” — Daniel 7:13–14
“But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not to be… then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” — Mark 13:14

When you look at the world today, it might feel a little chaotic. Headlines can be scary, people argue about the future, and sometimes you might wonder what’s really going on behind the scenes. In Mark 13, Jesus speaks honestly about hard times ahead, but He also points to hope. Daniel 7 shows us a powerful vision of God’s throne and the final victory of “one like a son of man”—a title Jesus used for Himself.
Meanwhile, Proverbs 30 highlights bold, fearless creatures that carry themselves with purpose. These verses remind us that we’re not meant to live in fear, but to walk with confidence because Jesus reigns. He’s not surprised by anything happening now or in the future. And He’s coming back.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Who’s in control? Daniel’s visions may sound intense, but they all point to this truth: God sits on the throne. Even when the world feels upside down, Jesus has already won the ultimate victory.
2. Live bold like the lion: Proverbs describes the lion as “not turning back before any.” What would it look like for you to face your fears with that kind of courage—trusting that God’s got your back?
3. Jesus prepares us, not scares us: Mark 13 isn’t about freaking out. It’s about staying alert, focused, and faithful. Jesus is giving us a heads-up so we’re not caught off guard—and so we can help others find hope in Him.

BOTTOM LINE
Jesus is King over everything. Even when the world looks dark, we can stand firm, knowing He is with us and will return in power and glory.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for being on the throne even when life feels uncertain. Help me to trust that Jesus is in control, no matter what. Teach me to walk with boldness, like the lion, and to live with faith and focus. Give me courage when I’m afraid, and help me point others to Your love and truth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
