“The wage of the righteous leads to life, the gain of the wicked to sin.” — Proverbs 10:16 (ESV)

“As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with your likeness.” — Psalm 17:15 (ESV)

“And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead.” — Acts 10:42 (ESV)

Think about how much time people spend chasing things that don’t last—money, likes, status, or approval. They promise happiness but leave you feeling empty. That’s what Proverbs 10 warns about: choices fueled by selfishness only lead to sin, while living God’s way leads to life. In Psalm 17, David declares that real satisfaction doesn’t come from stuff but from seeing God and being transformed by Him. And in Acts 10, Peter reminds us that Jesus is the Judge—the One who decides what really matters in the end. The truth is, what lasts forever isn’t what you own or what people think of you, but your relationship with God through Christ.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. What Are You Chasing? Are you investing your energy into things that fade away, or into living a life that reflects Christ and leads to eternal reward?

2. True Satisfaction: When have you felt most alive and fulfilled? How does Psalm 17:15 challenge you to seek satisfaction in God’s presence rather than temporary pleasures?

3. Living for Eternity: If Jesus is the Judge (Acts 10:42), how does that reality change the way you make daily choices—in school, friendships, or online?

BOTTOM LINE

The things of this world fade, but life with God through Christ is what truly lasts.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that real life is found in You, not in temporary things. Help me to live with eternity in mind, to seek Your presence above all else, and to make choices that honor You. Teach me to find my satisfaction in You and to trust that Your way leads to life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
