“Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life, but he who rejects reproof leads others astray.” — Proverbs 10:17 (ESV)

“The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed turned to the Lord.” — Acts 11:21 (ESV)

“When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose.” — Acts 11:23 (ESV)

Have you ever been on a road trip and almost missed your exit because you weren’t paying attention? Life can feel like that. There are distractions, shortcuts, and wrong turns everywhere. Proverbs 10:17 reminds us that paying attention to God’s instruction keeps us on the path to life. In Acts 11, we see the early believers in Antioch choosing to follow God faithfully. Because they stayed focused, the hand of the Lord was with them, and many others came to believe. Barnabas encouraged them to stick with Jesus “with steadfast purpose.” That’s a great reminder for us: your faith isn’t just about starting the journey—it’s about staying on the path, even when it’s tough.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. Heed Instruction: Who are the voices in your life that challenge you to grow closer to God? Are you open to correction, or do you resist it?

2. God’s Hand with You: If God’s hand was with the believers in Antioch, what would it look like for His hand to be with you in your school, sports, or friendships?

3. Stay Steadfast: Barnabas told the believers to remain faithful with purpose. What’s one practical way you can stay consistent in your walk with Jesus this week?

BOTTOM LINE

Staying on God’s path means listening to His instruction, walking in His presence, and remaining faithful with purpose.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word that guides me and for Your hand that strengthens me. Help me to listen when You correct me, to walk closely with You, and to stay faithful no matter what distractions come my way. Give me the courage to remain steadfast and the joy of seeing others drawn to You through my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
