“The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; the heart of the wicked is of little worth. The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of sense.” — Proverbs 10:20–21 (ESV)

“But the word of God increased and multiplied.” — Acts 13:24 (ESV)

“And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.” — Acts 13:52 (ESV)

Have you ever noticed how powerful words can be? A single encouraging text from a friend can make your whole day better, but one cruel comment can leave you replaying it in your head for weeks. Proverbs 10:20–21 reminds us that our words can either bring life or damage. In Acts 13, even though Paul and Barnabas faced opposition, the Word of God kept spreading and people were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit. That shows us something huge: when our words align with God’s Word, they carry eternal impact. What we speak and share matters—it can literally feed people’s souls.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. Your Words Matter: Are your words more like “choice silver,” valuable and life-giving, or do they tear others down?

2. God’s Word Multiplies: What small ways can you share God’s truth—whether online, with friends, or even in your family—so His Word continues to spread through you?

3. Joy in the Spirit: The disciples didn’t just share truth; they lived in joy and the Spirit’s power. How can you let the Holy Spirit shape not only what you say, but how you live?

BOTTOM LINE

When you let your words line up with God’s Word, you don’t just talk—you give life, joy, and hope that lasts.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for showing me how powerful words can be. Help me to use my voice to speak life, encouragement, and truth that reflects You. Fill me with the Holy Spirit so that my words and actions bring joy to others and point them to Jesus. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
