“When the tempest passes, the wicked is no more, but the righteous is established forever.” — Proverbs 10:25 (ESV)

“And they said, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.’” — Acts 16:31 (ESV)

Storms can come out of nowhere—bad news, a friendship falling apart, or an unexpected failure. Life shakes us, just like an earthquake shook the prison in Acts 16. But the truth is, storms don’t last forever. Proverbs 10:25 says that when the whirlwind passes, the righteous stand strong. That’s exactly what happened when Paul and Silas stayed faithful in prison. Instead of breaking them, the storm became the moment that brought salvation to a jailer and his entire family (Acts 16:31). God’s presence doesn’t always prevent storms, but He does promise that those who trust Him will stand unshaken when the storm is over.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. Storms Will Come: What “storms” are you facing right now? How can you remind yourself that they won’t last forever?

2. Faith That Saves: The jailer asked, “What must I do to be saved?” and was told to simply believe in Jesus. What does trusting Jesus in your situation look like today?

3. Your Faith Impacts Others: Paul and Silas’s faith led to the salvation of a whole household. Who around you might see Jesus through the way you handle pressure or struggles?

BOTTOM LINE

Storms don’t last forever, but faith in Jesus makes you stand strong and can impact others around you.
