FEBRUARY 20 - Humble Wins
3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 11:2; Psalm 21; Acts 20

“When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.” — Proverbs 11:2
“For you meet him with rich blessings; you set a crown of fine gold upon his head.” — Psalm 21:3
“In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” — Acts 20:35

We live in a world that says, “Be the best. Show off. Climb to the top.” But God’s Word flips that script. Proverbs 11:2 warns us that pride leads to downfall, while humility leads to wisdom. Psalm 21 celebrates how God honors those He chooses, but it’s clear that the blessings come from God, not from our own greatness.
And in Acts 20, Paul reminds us that a life poured out for others is the life that truly matters. That’s not always easy to accept when everything around us says to look out for ourselves first. But when we live humbly and give freely, we find something deeper than success—we find purpose.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Humility is Strength: What does it really mean to be humble? Being humble doesn’t mean thinking less of yourself; it means thinking of yourself less. How can you practice humility in your daily life?
2. Giving is Greater: Paul quotes Jesus saying, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Why do you think giving brings more blessing than getting? Can you think of a time when helping someone else made you feel full inside?
3. Where’s Your Crown Coming From? Psalm 21 speaks of blessings and honor. But those good things came from God, not from trying to prove something. Are you chasing recognition from others, or are you living for God’s approval?

BOTTOM LINE
True greatness isn’t found in being first—it’s found in serving others, staying humble, and trusting God to lift you up in His timing.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, Thank You for reminding me that pride only leads to trouble, but humility brings wisdom and joy. Help me not to chase attention or praise, but to live a life that honors You. Teach me to give freely, love deeply, and stay grounded in Your truth. May I always remember that what You give is better than anything I can gain on my own. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
