“When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.” — Proverbs 11:2 (ESV)
“For the king trusts in the Lord, and through the steadfast love of the Most High he shall not be moved.” — Psalm 21:7 (ESV)
“But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” — Acts 20:24 (ESV)

You know that feeling when you finally win a game, crush a test, or get the spotlight you wanted? It feels awesome, right? But deep down, you might also feel the pressure to keep proving yourself—or the fear of losing it all. In Proverbs 11:2, the Bible warns us that pride can make us crash hard, but humility leads to wisdom and strength. Psalm 21 shows us that true confidence comes from trusting God, not ourselves. And in Acts 20, Paul shows us what it looks like to live with purpose, caring more about finishing God’s mission than personal comfort or fame. Real strength isn’t about the spotlight; it’s about staying rooted in God’s love and living for something bigger than yourself.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Check Your Heart: Where in your life do you feel the temptation to show off or rely only on yourself? How might humility invite God’s wisdom into those areas?
2. Trust Over Fear: Psalm 21:7 says the king “shall not be moved” because he trusts in God’s love. What would it look like for you to live with that same unshakable trust when things feel uncertain?
3. Live for the Mission: Paul focused on finishing the work God gave him, not chasing personal success. What mission or calling has God placed in your life right now—at school, in your family, or among your friends?

BOTTOM LINE
True strength comes from trusting God, walking in humility, and living for His purpose, not our pride.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for showing me that real strength isn’t about pride or trying to prove myself. Help me to trust in Your love, stay humble when life goes well, and stay focused on the mission You’ve given me. Teach me to live with wisdom and purpose, knowing that You’re with me every step of the way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
