FEBRUARY 21 - Straight Paths & Strong Convictions

3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 11:3–4; Acts 21–22

________________________________________

The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them. Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death — Proverbs 11:3–4

"Then Paul answered, 'What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.'" — Acts 21:13

"'I am a Jew, born in Tarsus in Cilicia, but brought up in this city, educated at the feet of Gamaliel...being zealous for God as all of you are this day.'" — Acts 22:3

It’s not always easy to stand for what’s right—especially when no one else seems to be. Whether it’s pressure at school, online, or even among friends, choosing integrity over popularity can feel like walking against the current. But Proverbs 11:3–4 reminds us that integrity acts like a GPS for life—it guides us when everything else feels uncertain.

And when we look at Acts 21–22, we see Paul living this out. Even when warned of danger, he stayed on God’s path. He wasn’t reckless—he was convicted. He knew who he was, who God was, and why that mattered more than his comfort or safety.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. What guides your decisions? Are your choices shaped by what’s easy or what’s right? Proverbs says integrity guides us—meaning it helps us decide which way to go even when things are confusing.

2. Courage through conviction: Paul wasn’t afraid because he had clarity about his mission. What convictions or truths about God give you courage when life is scary or uncertain?

3. Own your story: In Acts 22, Paul shares his background with boldness. Your testimony—how God is working in your life—is powerful. How can you share it with others, even if it’s still in progress?

BOTTOM LINE

Integrity isn’t about being perfect—it’s about consistently choosing what honors God, even when it’s hard. Like Paul, you can walk boldly when you let God’s truth guide you.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for being a steady guide when life feels confusing or scary. Help me to choose integrity over convenience and boldness over fear. Teach me to stand strong in my faith like Paul, and to live in a way that reflects who You are. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
