“The righteousness of the blameless keeps his way straight, but the wicked falls by his own wickedness. The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the treacherous are taken captive by their lust.” — Proverbs 11:5–6
“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning?... Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.” — Psalm 22:1, 3

Ever feel like you're doing the right thing, but life still feels unfair or confusing? Maybe you're trying to stay honest, keep your word, or walk away from drama—and yet, it feels like others who take shortcuts are winning. Proverbs 11:5–6 reminds us that choosing righteousness (aka, living in a way that pleases God) keeps our path straight and our hearts steady, even when things around us are chaotic.
And Psalm 22 gives us a raw look at someone feeling abandoned and unheard—but still choosing to trust in God’s goodness. Even when life feels like a mess, God is still on the throne, still holy, and still with us.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. The Power of Choices: What does it mean to be “blameless” or “upright” in your world—at school, online, or with friends? How can choosing what’s right help keep your path straight?
2. Feeling Forsaken: Psalm 22 shows us that even faithful people can feel far from God. What should we do when God feels silent? How can we remind ourselves that He’s still there?
3. God Sees the Heart: The world might celebrate people who cheat, lie, or fake it to get ahead. But God celebrates hearts that seek Him. Are there areas in your life where you’re tempted to cut corners instead of walking the path God laid out?

BOTTOM LINE
God sees the choices we make. Even when doing the right thing feels hard or unnoticed, He honors righteousness and walks with us—even in our hardest moments.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for being with me on the good days and the tough ones. Help me to choose what’s right, even when it’s not easy. Remind me that You see my heart and guide my steps when I follow You. When I feel alone or overlooked, draw me close and fill me with Your peace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
