“The righteousness of the blameless keeps his way straight, but the wicked falls by his own wickedness. The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the treacherous are taken captive by their lust.” — Proverbs 11:5–6 (ESV)

“Yet you are he who took me from the womb; you made me trust you at my mother’s breasts. On you was I cast from my birth, and from my mother’s womb you have been my God.” — Psalm 22:9–10 (ESV)

Ever felt like doing the right thing was the harder choice? Like everyone else was getting ahead by cutting corners, while you were struggling just to stay on the right path? In Proverbs 11, we see a promise: righteousness—the choice to follow God’s way—actually keeps your path straight. It may not always feel glamorous, but it protects you from so many traps that trip others up. And in Psalm 22, David reminds us that God has been with us from the start—before we even knew His name. Even when life feels unfair, or people around us seem to win with shady choices, God is still guiding those who trust Him. Doing what’s right isn’t just about rules—it’s about living in the safety and peace of knowing God is with you.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. Right Choices = Right Path: What “shortcuts” look tempting to you right now? How might choosing God’s way instead lead to freedom rather than regret?

2. God’s Been There All Along: Psalm 22 reminds us that God has been part of your story from the very beginning. How could remembering that help you trust Him more in tough moments?

3. Winning the Right Way: The world celebrates winning at any cost. How can you choose success God’s way, even if it takes longer or costs more?

BOTTOM LINE

Doing what’s right may feel slow or hard, but it leads to freedom, peace, and a life guided by God’s hand.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for being with me from the start and for caring about the choices I make. Help me to see through the temptations of quick wins and easy paths that lead to regret. Give me courage to live with integrity, trusting that Your way always leads to what’s best. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
