FEBRUARY 25 - When Goodness Goes Viral

3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 11:10–11; Acts 25

“When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices, and when the wicked perish there are shouts of gladness. By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is overthrown.” — Proverbs 11:10–11

“But Festus, wishing to do the Jews a favor, said to Paul, ‘Do you wish to go up to Jerusalem and there be tried on these charges before me?’ But Paul said, ‘I am standing before Caesar's tribunal, where I ought to be tried. To the Jews I have done no wrong, as you yourself know very well.’” — Acts 25:9–10

Have you ever noticed how one person’s integrity can change the vibe of a whole group? In Proverbs 11:10–11, we see a picture of a community rejoicing not just because someone is doing well, but because that someone is righteous—living with honesty and godly character.

Meanwhile, in Acts 25, Paul faces serious accusations, yet stays bold and faithful, refusing to let pressure make him compromise. In both passages, there’s this clear message: righteousness isn’t just a personal win—it blesses everyone around you.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. Goodness Impacts Everyone: Proverbs shows us that when people live rightly, entire communities benefit. Your choices—kindness, truth, courage—can make school, home, or even your friend group a better place.

2. Stand Firm Like Paul: Paul was under intense pressure, yet he didn’t back down or try to please people over God. What would it look like for you to stand up for what's right even when it's unpopular?

3. Words Build Up or Tear Down: Proverbs warns that the words of the wicked can destroy. Are your words helping lift others up, or are they tearing others down?

BOTTOM LINE

When you choose to live with integrity, it’s not just your life that changes—your whole community can feel the impact. Stand firm in your faith, speak life with your words, and don’t underestimate how your character can influence the world around you.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that my life matters beyond just me. Help me to live in a way that honors You and blesses others. Give me the courage to stand strong like Paul and the wisdom to speak words that build up, not tear down. Let my life be a light in my school, home, and friendships. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
