“Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit, but righteousness delivers from death.” — Proverbs 10:2 (ESV)

“I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.” — Psalm 16:8 (ESV)

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” — Acts 2:42 (ESV)

Everyone wants to feel secure. Maybe it’s fitting in at school, getting good grades, or having people you can count on. But real security isn’t found in popularity, money, or even success—it’s found in God. Proverbs 10:2 reminds us that chasing after things the wrong way never lasts. Psalm 16:8 shows us the secret: keeping God in front of us keeps us unshaken. And in Acts 2:42, the early church shows how they stayed strong—by sticking together, learning God’s Word, and praying. If you want unshakable confidence in life, it starts with choosing God first and surrounding yourself with people who do the same.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. What Really Lasts: Are you putting more energy into chasing things that won’t last, or into building a life that honors God?

2. Stay Steady: What does it look like for you to “set the Lord always before you” in your everyday routine?

3. Find Your People: Who in your life helps you grow in faith, like the believers in Acts 2:42 did for one another?

BOTTOM LINE

True security isn’t found in stuff or status—it’s found in God’s presence and in walking with His people.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for being my steady foundation when everything else feels shaky. Help me to keep You in front of me every day and to choose what truly lasts. Surround me with friends and mentors who point me closer to You, and teach me to find joy in Your presence. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
