“A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.” — Proverbs 10:4–5 (ESV)
“The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.” — Psalm 14:2 (ESV)
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.” — Acts 4:13 (ESV)

Have you ever looked back on a test, a game, or even a friendship and thought, “I really could’ve tried harder”? We all know the sting of wasted opportunities. Proverbs 10:4–5 reminds us that being diligent now shapes what we reap later. Psalm 14:2 shows that God is watching to see who truly seeks Him—not halfheartedly, but with real pursuit. And in Acts 4:13, Peter and John stood boldly before powerful leaders, and people noticed the difference—because they had been with Jesus. The choices you make today with your time, effort, and faith prepare you for what God wants to do in and through you tomorrow.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Be Diligent Now: What are areas in your life where you’ve been “asleep during harvest”? How can you take small, consistent steps of diligence—like in prayer, school, or relationships?
2. Seek God Daily: If the Lord looked at your heart today (Psalm 14:2), would He see someone who’s really chasing after Him? What’s one way you can grow closer to Him this week?
3. Be Recognized by His Presence: When others see you, do they recognize that you’ve “been with Jesus” like Peter and John? What would that look like in your attitude, words, or confidence?

BOTTOM LINE
Don’t waste your season—seek God diligently today so His presence marks your life tomorrow.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that what I do now matters for the future You have for me. Help me not to waste my opportunities but to be diligent in my faith, my work, and my relationships. Let others see that I’ve been with Jesus by the way I live boldly and faithfully. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
