“A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.” — Proverbs 10:4–5
“The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good.” — Psalm 14:1
“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” — Acts 4:12

Ever feel like everything’s moving fast—school, friends, sports, social media—and you’re just trying to keep up? It's easy to get distracted or even lazy when life feels overwhelming. But in Proverbs 10, we're reminded that staying diligent—doing the work, even when it’s hard—is what leads to growth. Meanwhile, Psalm 14 warns against ignoring God and choosing our own path, calling it foolish.
And in Acts 4, Peter boldly says that Jesus is the only way to salvation, no matter how many other voices we hear. Together, these verses point to a truth we can’t ignore: we need to wake up to what matters most—faith in Jesus and living like it counts.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Diligence Matters: What areas of your life are you “sleeping through”? Is it your relationship with God, school, or friendships? God honors effort that comes from the heart.
2. Don’t Be Fooled: Psalm 14 calls out the lie that God doesn’t matter. What influences (TikTok, music, friends, etc.) make it harder to believe or live out your faith?
3. Jesus is the Only Way: Acts 4:12 makes it clear—salvation isn’t found in being “good enough” or fitting in. Have you made Jesus the center of your life, or just a part of your Sunday routine?

BOTTOM LINE
Don’t sleep through the moments that matter. Live with purpose, stay close to Jesus, and don’t let the world fool you into thinking anything else will save you.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, help me stay awake to what really matters. Give me a heart that works hard, a mind that stays sharp in truth, and a soul that’s anchored in Jesus. Keep me from drifting and draw me closer to You every day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
