3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 10:6–7; Acts 5

“Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.” — Proverbs 10:6–7

“But Peter said, ‘Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit… You have not lied to man but to God.’” — Acts 5:3–4

“And great fear came upon the whole church and upon all who heard of these things.” — Acts 5:11

Have you ever thought about how you’ll be remembered? It might sound kind of deep, but the choices you make now are shaping your reputation and legacy. In Proverbs 10:6–7, Solomon talks about how the righteous are remembered with honor, but the wicked leave behind regret.

We see this played out dramatically in Acts 5 with Ananias and Sapphira. They tried to lie and act like they were more generous than they really were—and it didn’t end well. Their names became a warning story instead of a legacy of faith.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. What Story Are You Writing? Every decision you make builds your story. Are your words and actions leading people to see Jesus in you, or something else?

2. Integrity Matters: Ananias and Sapphira’s mistake wasn’t just holding back money—it was pretending to be something they weren’t. Honesty with God and others is key to a lasting, God-honoring life.

3. Fear of God—Not in a Scary Way: The church’s reaction to their story wasn’t just fear—it was awe. It reminded them (and us) that God takes our hearts seriously. Respecting Him leads to wisdom and real blessing.

BOTTOM LINE

How you live today matters for how you’ll be remembered tomorrow. Live with integrity and honor God with every choice.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, help me to live a life that honors You in both big and small decisions. Give me the courage to be real, the wisdom to make good choices, and the strength to walk in integrity. Let my life be a light and my memory be a blessing to others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
