“Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.” — Proverbs 10:6–7 (ESV)

“But Peter and the apostles answered, ‘We must obey God rather than men.’” — Acts 5:29 (ESV)

Everyone wants to be remembered for something. Some people chase fame, likes, or followers. But Proverbs 10:7 reminds us that it’s not about popularity—it’s about living in a way that honors God, leaving behind a memory that blesses others. In Acts 5, the apostles had a choice: listen to powerful people who told them to stay quiet about Jesus, or stand boldly for the truth even if it cost them everything. Their courage shows us that real legacy is built on obedience to God, not the approval of people.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. Your Legacy Matters: How do you want to be remembered by your friends, family, or classmates? Are your daily choices shaping that kind of memory?

2. Obedience Over Popularity: The apostles said, “We must obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29). When was the last time you had to choose between doing what was right and what was popular?

3. Blessings Follow Righteousness: Proverbs says blessings rest on the righteous. How can living with integrity open the door for God’s favor in your life?

BOTTOM LINE

A life lived in obedience to God leaves behind a legacy that never fades.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that how I live today shapes how I’ll be remembered tomorrow. Give me courage to obey You even when it’s hard or unpopular. Help me to live with integrity, walk in Your blessing, and leave behind a life that points others to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
